Beloved police captain killed in shoot-out in Ekurhuleni

Tributes have been pouring in for a Springs SAPS captain since the tragic news of his death.

Captain Wynand du Toit was well-loved in the community.

Springs SAPS Captain Wynand du Toit was tragically gunned down during a shoot-out this morning in Geduld, Ekurhuleni.

According to an article published by Springs Advertiser, this followed his brave attempt to thwart a robbery in progress involving four male suspects.

Du Toit sustained injuries and was transported to Life Springs Parkland Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

A memorial service will be held in his honour at the back parking area of Springs Mall tomorrow at 18:30.
