Bodies of 4 badly beaten men found in Boksburg veld

Investigations are underway into the deaths of four men whose bodies were dumped next to a railroad bridge.

Boksburg police are investigating multiple murders after four men’s bodies, believed to be in their early 30s, were found in the veld next to the railroad bridge on Wit Deep Road in Jerusalem informal settlement, near Delmore Park, in Ekurhuleni.

According to the Boksburg police, the grisly discovery of the men, described as African males believed to be zama zamas, was made on Wednesday by someone who called the police after stumbling upon the bodies.

While the cause of death is not yet determined, a preliminary investigation revealed that the men had suffered head injuries. It is suspected that victims were killed elsewhere before their bodies were moved and dumped on the ground next to the railway line.

It appears that the men, in dirty and blood-soaked clothes and boots, were beaten to death.

The victims have not been identified and police are on the hunt for those responsible for the killings.

Investigators urge anyone with information that can help them solve the murders or identify the bodies to come forward and contact the Boksburg police on 011 841 6844/6845 or 082 575 1740.
