Bodies of three women found in sugarcane fields near Hibberdene
Police say at this stage they cannot confirm whether the same perpetrator is responsible for all three murders.

Police have roped in the Investigative Psychology Section for assistance after the bodies of three women were found close to Hibberdene between April and July this year.
“On March 28 two sisters aged 16 and 25, from Mnamfu location, were reported missing at Hibberdene police station.
“Two decomposed bodies were found in the sugarcane fields at Mnamfu location on April 25,” said provincial police spokesman, Brigadier Jay Naicker.
An inquest docket was opened at Hibberdene police station for investigation.
Family members identified the bodies as the missing siblings through clothing found at the scene.
On June 28 a 23-year-old woman from Nomakhanzana location was also reported missing at Hibberdene police station.
“Hunters found her slightly decomposed body in sugarcane fields at Nomakhanzana location on July 6. She had a stab wound to the chest,” said Brig Naicker.
A case of murder was opened at Hibberdene police station.
Both cases have been assigned to a single investigating officer and the district commander for detectives is monitoring the investigation.
“We have also approached our Investigative Psychology Section for assistance. At this stage, we cannot confirm if the same perpetrator/s are/is responsible for both incidents,” Brig Naicker added.
