Body of missing Pretoria woman recovered after massive search
At this early stage of their investigations, provincial police cannot confirm if foul play is suspected but an inquest is underway.
Landi Prinsloo, a mom of three who was last seen on the Kameeldrift Road in the northeast of Pretoria on Thursday at around 08:15, was on Friday morning found deceased.
Police late yesterday afternoon said they are still investigating the matter. They were unable to confirm whether foul play was suspected or ruled out.
Landi’s car, a white Toyota Prado, was recovered on Moloto Road late on Thursday. Her handbag was found inside the vehicle but neither Landi nor her cellphone was located.
Husband Jann said the Roodeplaat K9 Unit recovered her phone and items of clothing next to the river nearby.
He added that a search party had resumed the search the following day (Friday) and Rekord learnt from a statement on social media that Landi’s body was found at 09:46 yesterday.
“Landi has been found and is in a better place; thanks for everyone’s help and support, we are all sad.”
Maroela Media reports that a firearm was found about 300m from her body and that it is unclear if the firearm belongs to her.
Further investigations are currently underway.
Residents with any relevant information to the case are urged to reach out to local law enforcement.
Jann extended his gratitude to everyone involved in the effort to find Landi, including the K9 team, drone operators, helicopter support, Advanced Paramedic Assistance, SAPS, and all the people in the community that came out to help.
