Bok’s away kit: It wasn’t us, says Checkers
Known for its quick deliveries, the retail giant has offered a response to viral claims they had something to do with the Boks' alternative jersey.
Checkers have released a cheeky advert in response to the retail giants’ influence on the much-maligned alternative strip worn by the Springboks at the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
In a tongue-in-cheek advert posted by the retail giant, they claim innocence for the design.

Upset Springbok supporters took to social media to slam the alternative jersey worn by the world champions in their opening win against Scotland on Sunday.
Many likened the jerseys to attire worn by Checkers Sixty60 delivery workers.
The new springboks kit looks exactly like the checkers sixty 60 colour and all I’m saying is checkers has a great marketing tactic to put all of their drivers in this kit 👀😌

SA Rugby Magazine in August reported that the alternative strip is to ‘accommodate World Rugby’s policy for colour blind fans at the world cup’.
