Boy (12) killed in Polokwane accident – negligent driving suspected

Three people were seriously injured and a child killed in the collision yesterday morning.

A collision on the corner of Vermikuliet and River Street in Polokwane yesterday claimed the life of a 12-year-old boy.

According to the accident report, the driver of a luxury SUV entered Vermikuliet Street unsafely and collided with another sedan.

Spokesperson for the Department of Transport and Community Safety Tidimalo Chuene says three other people were seriously injured.

“The possible cause of the collision has been cited as reckless/negligent driving,” she says.

The Polokwane Review is awaiting confirmation from Chuene as to whether the driver responsible for the collision will be arrested or not.
