Brakpan man tied up and beaten during house robbery

A Brakpan man was assaulted and tied up during a house robbery in Anzac, where intruders stole goods worth R20 000 before fleeing.

A man from Anzac, Brakpan, was assaulted during a robbery at his George Street home in the early hours of Monday.

According to Brakpan Herald, the victim was reportedly awakened by the light of a torch at around 03:30.

He saw two intruders in his bedroom, one armed with a crowbar.

When he tried to get up, one of the robbers beat him.

This robber, described as aggressive, continued the assault until his accomplice intervened.

The victim’s hands and feet were tied with electrical cord, and the robbers ransacked the house.

They fled with various tools, including grinders, drills and an axe, several pairs of shoes and a cellphone.

The stolen goods are valued at R20 000.

Brakpan SAPS is investigating a case of house robbery.
