Anzac man tied up and beaten during house robbery

One of the intruders was armed with a crowbar.

An Anzac man was assaulted during a robbery at his George Street home during the early hours of Monday morning.

It is reported the victim was awakened by the light of a torch at around 03:30.

He saw two intruders in his bedroom, one of whom was armed with a crowbar.

When the victim tried to get up from the bed, one of the robbers beat him.

This robber was described as aggressive and continued to assault the victim. He only stopped his assault once his accomplice intervened.

The victim’s hands and feet were tied with electrical cord, and the robbers ransacked the house.

They fled with various tools, including grinders, drills and an axe, several pairs of shoes and a cellphone.

The combined value of the stolen goods is R20 000.

A house robbery case is under investigation by Brakpan SAPS.
