A former East London resident and mom of four was found stabbed near her car in a French village earlier this week.
A British-South African woman was brutally murdered in southwestern France on Tuesday evening.
Karen Carter (65) was found dead near her car with multiple stab wounds in France’s Dordogne region, the BBC reports.
According to social media pages belonging to Carter and her husband, Alan, the couple hail from East London in South Africa. Both attended Rhodes University,

The BBC reports that Carter lived in Trémolat for more than 10 years, where she was the owner of two guesthouses.
Carter was found with several stab wounds after a night out. The male friend who found her then called the police.
“He discovered her collapsed and unconscious near her vehicle with bleeding wounds, and he immediately called emergency services, administering first aid himself,” local prosecutor Sylvie Martins-Guedes told the Independent.
“The injuries were particularly violent, and their location demonstrated an intent to kill.”
A 69-year-old woman has reportedly been arrested in connection with Carter’s murder.
Alan, who is currently in South Africa, told the BBC that his wife was ‘such a decent, lovely person’.
Carter was the mother of four children.
