Bulls complete double deal

The Blue Bulls have confirmed that two players from the Pumas have joined the team.

The Vodacom Bulls were delighted to announce the capture of two Currie Cup-winning stars from the Pumas for next season.

Bulls director of rugby Jake White has boosted his options in the backline with the acquisition of experienced Cape-born all-rounder Devon Williams.

Joining Williams at the Pretoria outfit in 2023-24 is lock Deon Slabbert, who was previously linked with Welsh Vodacom United Rugby Championship club, the Dragons.

Both featured prominently for the Pumas in an epic 2022 Currie Cup campaign, and were consistent performers as Jimmy Stonehouse’s charges looked to defend their title last season.

They reunite with former teammate Sebastian de Klerk as the latest signings by the Bulls, following several high-profile recruits – including veteran Springbok playmaker Willie le Roux – who will make Loftus Versfeld their new stomping ground.

The news also follows the appointment of four new assistant coaches, including Gary Gold, as White overhauled his support staff for the upcoming campaign.
