Residents of Kagiso, near Krugersdorp in Gauteng, were shocked to witness chaos between taxi drivers, private security personnel, and police unfold yesterday.

At about 14:30, the Krugersdorp News received a tip-off from a resident in Kagiso about ongoing violence that took place between taxi drivers, police, and a private security firm. The incident occurred on the corner of Sebenzisa Drive and Kagiso Avenue.

When Krugersdorp News arrived on the scene, police were too occupied to speak to the media or provide any immediate details as to what the reasons were behind the chaos. However, one witness who requested to remain anonymous, told a Krugersdorp News journalist on the scene that the main issue is primarily an ongoing dispute between two well-known taxi associations in Kagiso, namely Krudito and the Munsieville Taxi Association.

The newspaper also witnessed the arrest of at least six people, and multiple weapons, including AK-47s, were confiscated.
