Children among 27 injured as school bus overturns in Centurion
One child suffered critical injuries and had to be airlifted to hospital.
At least 27 people, mostly school children, were injured when a school bus overturned outside Centurion on Monday morning, Pretoria Rekord reports.
The accident happened on the M26 road near Gerhardsville around 07: 25.
“The minibus transporting school children rolled and crashed through a fence on a farm while on the way to drop off the children at school,” said Cert-SA spokesperson Ruan Heyns.
He said one child suffered critical injuries and had to be airlifted to hospital.
Tshwane emergency services spokesperson Charles Mabaso said the injured were taken to Kalafong, Unitas and Pretoria West hospitals.
“I have not yet been briefed on the genders and ages of the patients,” Mabaso said.
The police were investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
