Children flung from car in Krugersdorp crash (video)
Four children were critically injured after being flung from a car when it collided with another vehicle in Krugersdorp on Monday.
Netcare 911 paramedics found a Toyota Condor had overturned on impact and its occupants flung on to the road, Krugersdorp News reported.
Paramedics found that three children aged about one, seven and 14 had sustained critical injuries. Three adults, two women and a man, were also seriously injured.
The victims were stabilised at the scene while a seven-year-old girl was placed on a ventilator and airlifted to hospital.
After being stabilised, the remaining patients were then transported to various hospitals.
An eyewitness on the scene alleged the driver of the Condor had been intoxicated at the time of the accident.
The exact cause of the accident will form part of a police investigation.
In a similar incident, 15 children were injured after the taxi they were travelling in lost control and rolled in Montclair, Durban, last November.
Paramedics reportedly found a Toyota Condor on its roof with several children between the ages of eight and 12 years injured around the vehicle.
In the short video posted on YouTube, the taxi is seen racing through a street before suddenly overturning.
