Power cuts to persist until Monday

Varied stages of load-shedding will be implemented daily.

Continuous power cuts are here to stay until at least on Monday morning.

This is according to Eskom, who announced that stage 1 load-shedding will be implemented daily between 05:00 and 16:00.

Stage 2 load-shedding will then be implemented daily between 16:00 and 05:00.

These varied stages of load-shedding are set to continue until Monday morning, the power utility says.

Eskom adds that they currently have 4 846MW on planned maintenance while a further 14 509MW is ‘unavailable due to breakdowns’.
