Residents informed police who then discovered the lifeless body – with noticeable injuries – of a man believed to be in his 20s.

The police in Westenburg, Polokwane, are appealing to anyone with information to come forward following the discovery of an unidentified African male’s body in the city yesterday morning.

Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says the man’s lifeless body was found with multiple injuries at the Polokwane bus station.

“The police were alerted to the scene after receiving a report from the community. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of the individual with several, noticeable injuries,” his statement reads.

Ledwaba says the identity of the deceased is unknown and that preliminary investigations suggest the deceased is in his 20s. He was wearing blue jeans, a blue T-shirt and All Star tekkies at the time of his death.

A case of murder has been opened and the exact cause of death is still under investigation.

“Anyone with information can contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Johny Sebati, on 082 729 0049, detectives commander Captain Ntlane Rasedile on 082 565 8566, the Crime Stop number [on] 08600 10111, their nearest police station or via the MySAPS app,” he requests.
