Covid-19: Mpumalanga confirmed cases as of September 5

South Africa has recorded 636 884 confirmed infections, according to an announcement by the minister of health, Dr Zweli Mkhize, on Saturday, September 5. A total of 24 968 of those cases have been reported in Mpumalanga.

According to data released by the Mpumalanga Department of Health, there have been 23 475 recoveries and 378 deaths to date.

The number of positive cases in the province can be broken down as follows:

Ehlanzeni District

  • Bushbuckridge: 714 cases, 674 recoveries and seven deaths
  • City of Mbombela: 4 184 cases, 3 903 recoveries and 26 deaths
  • Nkomazi: 1 926 cases, 1 847 recoveries and seven deaths
  • Thaba Chweu: 367 cases and 346 recoveries and one death.

Gert Sibande District

  • Chief Albert Luthuli: 669 cases, 638 recoveries and eight deaths
  • Dipaliseng: 332 cases and 317 recoveries and four death
  • Dr Pixely Ka Isaka Seme: 892 cases, 820 recoveries and 16 deaths
  • Govan Mbeki: 3 407 cases, 3 231 recoveries and 29 deaths
  • Lekwa: 1 077 cases, 985 recoveries and 55 deaths
  • Mkhondo: 505 cases, 463 recoveries and 21 deaths
  • Msukaligwa: 1 447 cases, 1 328 recoveries and 40 deaths.

Nkangala District

  • Dr JS Moroka: 363 cases, 339 recoveries and eight deaths
  • eMakhazeni: 394 cases and 359 recoveries and 13 deaths
  • eMalahleni: 5 175 cases, 4 944 recoveries and 71 deaths
  • Steve Tshwete: 2 463 cases, 2 280 recoveries and 44 deaths
  • Thembisile Hani: 605 cases, 576 recoveries and 20 deaths
  • Victor Khanye: 448 cases and 425 recoveries and eight deaths.
