A victim of a shooting is in critical condition, with multiple fractures in his legs.

A 39-year-old man is fighting for his life after an alleged argument spiralled out of control in the Mandeni township of Sundumbili in KZN this morning.

According to paramedics, the victim is an employee at a Sundumbili supermarket.

Bystanders reported that the perpetrator walked away from the argument to retrieve a rifle from his car and proceeded to shoot the shop employee in both legs.

“The victim suffered severe injuries and is in critical condition, with multiple fractures in both legs,” says IPSS Medical Rescue paramedic Kelsey-Jae Meyrick.

“At the moment, it’s difficult to say what the outcome will be,” she adds.

Paramedics stabilised the injured man and took him to hospital.

The shooter fled and is still at large.

Sundumbili SAPS is investigating the shooting.
