Ekurhuleni teen stabbed, allegedly by ex-boyfriend
A young girl who set off for school as normal this morning, is now in critical condition in hospital.

Peaceful Ndlovu (19), a learner from Nkumbulo Secondary School, in KwaThema, Ekurhuleni, is fighting for her life in hospital after being stabbed outside the school this morning, allegedly by her ex-boyfriend.
It is alleged the suspect, who is also the father of her two-year-old daughter, would not accept that she was moving on with her life.
According to Ekurhuleni SAPS spokesperson Captain Neldah Sekgobela, Ndlovu said the suspect insisted they fix things after she ended the relationship with him last night.
Ndlovu asked this morning if they could talk after school.
“The suspect was reluctant and adamant that they talk then, but she refused. He then allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed her twice, once in the upper body and once in the hip.
“A passer-by found her, who informed the school and called for medical assistance,” she explains.
KwaThema police are investigating a case of attempted murder. The suspect is yet to be arrested.
The victim’s mother, Nomvula Kubayi, says her daughter was trapped in an abusive relationship for over three years.
“Over the years, he has assaulted her with an electrical cable and attempted to strangle her to death. Earlier this year, after assaulting her on her way from school, she decided to go to the KwaThema Police Station to open a case but was told to return the following day.
“I feared for my daughter’s life to the point that I resigned from my job in Rustenburg to be home to ensure her safety,” she says.
She adds that all she wanted was for the suspect to be arrested and be held accountable for his actions.
“My daughter hid in the hospital bathrooms during visiting hours because she feared the suspect would finish her off,” she says.
