Elections 2024: 3 provinces need recounting after objections are lodged

ANC wins all but two provinces; however, some results are being reviewed.

While 99.9% of the votes have been captured, objections were lodged against three provinces’ results and 24 voting stations will be recounted – 20 in Gauteng, three in the North West and one in Limpopo.

In total, 16 326 689 votes were cast, of which 16 239 235 were valid, and 23 269 of 23 292 voting districts’ results have been completed.

The results are currently reflected as follows:

  • Free State: ANC secured 52.88%
  • Mpumalanga: ANC won with 51.89%
  • Limpopo: ANC won with 74.25%
  • North West: ANC won with 58.53%
