The Mayor of Emalahleni, Conny Nkalitshana, has been recalled.

ANC Nkangala secretary Sello Matshoga confirmed the decision to Witbank News and added that the ANC is finalising the process.

“We hope to announce her replacement on Tuesday,” Matshoga said.

This move from the ANC has been expected after a series of service delivery protests that voiced the anger of residents.

A growing Eskom bill, several water reclamation bills stacking up, and general service delivery issues has rocked the boat since Nkalitshana took over the reins after former mayor Linah Malatjie died in a car crash in 2022.
