Escaped lion found, safely returned to Pretoria reserve
The lion that had escaped its reserve this morning in the north of Pretoria, has been found.
The large male was darted by Dinokeng Game Reserve’s vets and returned safely to the reserve.
Nellis Putter shared photos of the “handsome” lion on the Roodeplaat FPA/BBV Facebook page, thanking those who had helped with its capture.
“Thanks to Toni Geddes, John Kinghorn, Rob Geddes and everyone who saw all the tracks in the morning, and contacted the necessary people in Dinokeng Game Reserve. Thanks to everyone from Dinokeng who followed the tracks and finally caught him again.”
Community members and the local CPFs were also thanked for their assistance.
