Eskom releases weekend load-shedding schedule

Power cuts from stages 1 to 3 are on the cards for the weekend.

Eskom says that due to emergency generation reserves being nearly drained and generating units that keep breaking down, load-shedding will have to continue through the weekend.

Stage 3 load-shedding is currently in progress until 16:00 whereafter stage 4 kicks in until 05:00 tomorrow.

The weekend’s load-shedding schedule is as follows:
  • Friday 05:00 – 16:00: Stage 2
  • Friday 16:00 – Saturday 05:00: Stage 3
  • Saturday 05:00 – 16:00: Stage 1
  • Saturday 16:00 – Sunday 05:00: Stage 2
  • Sunday 05:00 – 16:00: No load-shedding
  • Sunday 16:00 – midnight: Stage 2
