Freedom Front Plus mourns the loss of Limpopo leader

Marcelle Maritz was the party’s provincial leader since 2019, and served as a member of the provincial legislature.

Freedom Front Plus (FF Plus) leader Dr Pieter Groenewald says the party is shocked and grieved by the sudden death of Marcelle Maritz on Friday night.

Maritz, a member of the provincial legislature, served as the party’s provincial leader since 2019.

“Marcelle was well-known in Limpopo, and her passing is not only a terrible loss for her loved ones but also for the FF Plus and the community she served selflessly and with great zeal,” Groenewald’s statement read.

He added that the farming community was especially dear to her, and there was hardly a single farm murder or attack in Limpopo where she did not visit the victims or their next of kin.

“Marcelle frequently visited hospitals and always showed compassion for both humans and animals in need. She will be remembered for her dedication to serving her community. Her passing leaves a great void,” Groenewald said.
