Fuel prices set to increase from tomorrow
Only LP gas users have a reason to smile this month, with all other fuel prices increasing.
The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) has announced the fuel price increase for August and although there will be no slate fuel levy this month, motorists will pay anything from 37c to 72c more per litre of fuel from tomorrow.
Petrol will increase by 37c per litre for both octane levels, while the diesel price will rise by 71c and 72c per litre. The price of paraffin will also increase by 71c per litre.
However, gas consumers will pay R1.61 less per kilogram of gas.
The main reason for the price increases is the Brent crude oil price increase. DMRE spokesperson Robert Maake told The Citizen that analysts expect the oil price to rise even higher in the coming weeks.
