Gang of women on alleged rape spree in Limpopo

Police in Hoedspruit, Limpopo have warned residents of a gang of suspected female rapists terrorising male victims in the area.

According to Hoedspruit police spokesperson, Constable Livhuwani Mulaudzi, police had recently received numerous complaints about crimes which happened after people were given lifts by strangers, Letaba Herald reported.

She added the women were driving a BMW 320i when they picked the victim up at a hitch-hiking spot and, as they were driving, the unknown suspects offered the man a drink which was unopened.

After drinking he reportedly became aroused. They then drove with him into a deserted area where they pointed at him with a firearm.

The suspects then forced themselves physically onto him without using any protection.

“People must use public transport and stop hitch hiking as it is putting their lives in danger of being robbed, raped or even killed,” said Mulaudzi.

A similar modus operandi was used by another gang of alleged female rapists when a 31-year-old man was supposedly gang-raped by three women in Tembisa, on Gauteng’s East Rand in March.

The man was later raped, after which he was given a cold drink. After drinking the beverage, he claimed to feel sleepy. He was found sleeping under a bridge in the Olifantsfontein area.
