Gauteng police investigate attempted kidnapping at primary school
A man who was walking his child to school escorted the traumatised girls to safety.

Kempton Park SAPS is investigating a case of alleged attempted kidnapping following an incident at Kempton Park Primary School on Thursday morning, Kempton Express reports.
Two Kempton Park Primary learners on their way to school were allegedly nearly abducted by three men on Pascoe Avenue, only a few hundred metres away from the school.
The alleged incident happened around 7.15am.
According to an eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, the men were driving a silver Mercedes Benz with tinted windows. She is a domestic worker in the area.
She told Express on Thursday morning: “As I walked down Pascoe Avenue, I saw a man arguing with the men in the Mercedes.”
It is believed this man helped the girls and the alleged kidnappers followed him. He then ran away.
he two girls were left crying at the stop sign on the corner of Swart Street. When the witness asked them what had happened, they apparently told her the men in the car tried to kidnap them.
The witness also said the driver of the Mercedes Benz was armed with a firearm and was wearing a denim jacket.
Another man who was walking his child to school, escorted the traumatised girls to safety.
Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS, said no-one had been arrested. Police appealed to anyone noticing a suspicious silver/grey Mercedes Benz to inform the police or call 08600 10111.
Spokesperson for Gauteng Department of Education Steve Mabona on Thursday afternoon said the department was not aware of the incident.
The principal of Kempton Park Primary School did not want to comment.
