Gauteng teen arrested for shooting man he alleges was abusing his mom

The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his head and right shoulder, according to police.

A 19-year-old boy is expected to appear in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court soon after he reportedly fatally shot the man he accuses of abusing his mother.

According to Alex SAPS station commander Brigadier Lindiwe Magudulela, the incident happened at about 17:30 on Monday.

Police were called to the scene an hour later and upon their arrival, they were told that the boy had fled the scene of the crime in a white bakkie. He was later arrested.

The deceased was reported to have multiple gunshot wounds to the head and his right shoulder. It is not clear what the relationship between the man and the boy was.

At this stage, it is also not known whether the police have recovered the firearm, but the suspect is set to make his first court appearance soon.
