Girl (16) goes missing in Evaton after ‘finding boyfriend’ on Facebook

Evaton police are asking the community to come forward with any information that can assist in finding the missing child.

A 16-year-old girl is missing after allegedly going to meet a new boyfriend she had met on Facebook in Evaton near Sebokeng.

It is said that on December 29 at around 16:20, the teenager, Mbali Tuge, was visiting her grandmother together with her mother in Extension 4, Evaton West when she went to Evaton Mall to meet with a supposed new boyfriend she had met on Facebook.

On the same day at about 20:00 Mbali’s mother tried calling her but her number went to voicemail, she also tried reaching her on her Facebook account but to no avail.

“They went to search for her at a friend’s place and she was still not found,” said Evaton police spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi.

Mbali was last seen wearing a long-sleeved dress, brown in colour, and white Crocs shoes her hair was dyed blonde and she was wearing a navy-blue cap.

“Evaton police are asking the community to come forward with any information that can assist in finding the missing child and bring her back home safe to her family,” Msibi said.

The public has been urged to contact the Evaton Police Station on 016 590 9300 should they have any information about the whereabouts of Mbali. They can also use the MySAPS-App to leave a tip-off.
