Here’s Eskom’s load-shedding plan for the weekend

Various stages of rolling power cuts will be implemented throughout the weekend according to the forecast.

Cold temperatures and various stages of load-shedding are forecast for the weekend.

Eskom has announced that stage 4 power cuts will continue until 05:00 tomorrow after which it will be downgraded.

The power utility’s spokesperson, Daphne Mokwena, says in a statement that generating capacity unavailable due to breakdowns has reduced to 16 686MW, while an additional 3 966MW is offline due to planned maintenance.

“Over the past 24 hours, a generating unit at Camden, Duvha and two generating units at Kendal power stations were returned to service. In the same period, a generating unit at Medupi and two generating units at Kriel power stations were taken offline for repairs.

“The delay in returning to service a generating unit at Kendal, Majuba and two generating units at Tutuka power stations are contributing to the current capacity constraints,” she explains.
