Hollywoodbets renews partnership with Comrades Marathon

The Comrades Marathon has once again renewed its partnership with South Africa’s leading bookmaker, Hollywoodbets.

For the next three years, Hollywoodbets will remain as the official sports betting partner to the marathon.

Comrades Marathon Association chairwoman, Cheryl Winn, made the announcement at an entertaining sponsorship launch at the Hollywoodbets team support offices in Umhlanga, on Thursday.

The event featured entertainment by dancers, music and sumptuous bunny chows served to all guests.

Since 2017, Hollywoodbets has been a proud supporter of the event, serving as a sponsor and activator of the Drummond halfway mark.

Team members turn the check point into a sea of purple as they support each of the thousands of runners that make their way past Drummond while taking on the ultimate human race.

Winn said, “It is our pleasure to confirm the ongoing successful relationship that the Comrades Marathon has developed with Hollywoodbets. This expansive sports betting company has added immense value to our race day activations. They have truly painted the town purple and turned the Comrades Marathon halfway point into an iconic sight on race day. As we build up to our centenary celebrations next year, we look forward to sharing the passion and success of two leading homegrown brands.”

Hollywoodbets operations manager, Morgan Shandu, stated that their association with the Comrades Marathon goes back many years.

“We are thrilled to be continuing our partnership. This race showcases the very real attributes of endurance, commitment, hope and camaraderie and brings South Africa and the world together in a unique, truly spectacular road running event. Being a proudly KZN company, this race forms a big part of our community initiatives,” Shandu said.
