Howick toddler drowns in home swimming pool

A child who drowned in a home swimming pool couldn’t be revived despite valiant efforts by various emergency services.

A toddler drowned in a swimming pool in Howick, in the KZN Midlands, yesterday afternoon.

According to an article published by The Witness, emergency services, including St Michael’s Ambulance, Midlands EMS, Howick Search and Rescue Unit, K9 Hunter and Advanced Life Support paramedics responded to the emergency call at a home in Howick.

When they got there, the child was unresponsive.

Despite valiant efforts to revive the child, no signs of life were detected, and the toddler was sadly declared dead at the scene.

Authorities were at the scene and the drowning is being investigated.
