IEC website, results dashboard at ROC crash

South Africans wanting election results updates are in the dark this morning.

South Africans waking up with the hope of seeing the latest election results will be disappointed as the IEC’s live election dashboards are currently down.

Both the live election dashboard on its website and the large dashboard screens at the National Results Centre crashed on Friday and were still down by 08:00.

The IEC issued this alert a few minutes ago: “We apologise for the issue with our public-facing NPE [National and Provincial Elections] system, and are working on restoring service. The results system is still operational and local offices continue to capture results.”

The live results dashboard on the IEC’s website currently displays all results, as well as the number of votes counted, as 0.
