Kempton Park store manager stabbed after refusing to exchange goods
A man became aggressive and allegedly stabbed a store manager twice because clothing couldn’t be exchanged without a receipt.
A 44-year-old man was arrested at Festival Mall in Kempton Park on Friday following a stabbing at a store.
According to an article published by Kempton Express, Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego confirmed the stabbing, stating that a woman visited the store to exchange clothing but could not provide a receipt.
“When the staff informed her that they could not process the exchange without proof of purchase, her boyfriend demanded to see the manager,” says Ditshego.
The man became aggressive during the confrontation.
“He allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the manager twice in the upper body.”
Emergency services were called, and the manager was airlifted to hospital for treatment.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and will face charges of attempted murder.
“The suspect is expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court soon,” says Ditshego.
