Khoisan spotted outside Nasrec as National Elective Conference is underway

The Khoisan Mass Movement wants President Cyril Ramaphosa to sign their memorandum of understanding.

While the ANC is currently holding its 55th National Elective Conference to elect its leadership, the Khoisan Mass Movement held a peaceful protest outside Nasrec in Johannesburg.

The silent protest, led by a trio of Khoisan activists, aims to raise the group’s plights.

They demand land which they claim is theirs and ‘equal opportunities’, calling for President Cyril Ramaphosa to address them.

During this time, they plan on sleeping outside the conference till the party’s biggest event is over.

“We demand that President Cyril Ramaphosa signs our memorandum of understanding. We will continue with the demonstration until the president adheres to our plights. We’re a first nation,” said chief Joseph Marble, the national president of the Khoisan Mass Movement.

Marble, who is also an author, reiterated that they demand the incumbent president to address them.
