Krugersdorp film crew attack: Former female police officer arrested
A woman was arrested yesterday in connection with an incident in July when a group of women were gang raped by several attackers.

A former female police officer who was stationed at the Krugersdorp Police Station has been arrested in connection with the vicious attack on a film crew in West Village that made national headlines in July.
Krugersdorp News can confirm she was also part of the film crew.
On July 28, the police stated the crew of 22 people – 12 women and 10 men – were filming a music video when they were attacked by a group of armed men wearing blankets.
“The attackers ordered everyone to lie on the ground and subsequently raped eight of the women before robbing everyone of their belongings and fleeing the scene,” said police spokesperson Brigadier Brenda Muridili.
The former police officer was arrested yesterday for theft and defeating the ends of justice after it was discovered by the investigating officer that she had in her possession property that belongs to one of the victims who was raped.
“The person arrested was a crew member and one of the people who organised this thing. We are saddened because how do the alleged robbed items end up in her possession? She also already appeared before the Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court,” said Gauteng Police Commissioner General Elias Mawela.
A total of 15 arrests have now been made in connection with the incident and some of the suspects have been positively identified.
They face a range of charges including multiple counts of rape, robbery with aggravated circumstances and being in the country illegally.
