KZN father accused of beating daughter (8) to death

A man who allegedly assaulted his daughter with a belt while teaching her the alphabet is due to appear in court soon.

A 34-year-old father has been arrested and charged with murder following the death of his eight-year-old daughter in the Wosiyane area of Ndwedwe in KZN.

According to police, the man allegedly assaulted his daughter with a belt while teaching her the alphabet in her bedroom last Thursday.

North Coast Courier reports that the child reportedly suffered multiple injuries and bruises to her body as a result of the beating.

Paramedics were called to the scene but were unable to save the girl. She was declared dead on the scene.

The father was arrested at the scene and is expected to appear in court soon.
