A woman from Mfekayi in KZN who was this week arrested for the murder of her boyfriend remains in police custody, awaiting the outcome of her bail application.

She is expected back in the KwaMsane Magistrate’s Court on Monday when the outcome will be handed down.

The court heard that the incident was the result of a lovers’ quarrel, and that the 31-year-old man was stabbed in the neck and had bled profusely.

The court also heard that the woman (27) had cried after the incident, and said she had not meant to stab him.

The incident occurred near Nsabalele Primary School, and the victim was declared deceased by health practitioners at a local clinic.

Police spokesperson Captain Sbusiso Mkhize said the woman was arrested immediately after the murder was reported to the local police.
