Limpopo couple found murdered in shack

Police are calling on members of the public to assist with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) responsible for the brutal murder of a Driekop couple.

A man and woman were found shot dead in a shack in Ga-Maroga village, Limpopo, on August 31.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the bodies of a man and a woman, aged 38 and 36, with bullet wounds, says police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba. “They were found on a bed covered with a blanket.”

He adds that the motive for the gruesome killing is unknown and that the circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.
The victims’ identities will be released after their next of kin have been notified.

Provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe condemned the incident and called on the community to assist police with information.
