Limpopo man found ‘sucking blood’ from victim

Allegedly cops also found the man using a sharp instrument to chop up the deceased.

Police in Zaaiplaas outside Groblesdal have arrested a 30-year-old man for the murder of his next door neighbour, the Review Online reports.

According to a statement issued by police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, the incident happened at the Zaaiplaas new stands at around 7am on Tuesday.

“It is alleged a passer-by found the suspect chopping at the female victim, 39, with a sharp instrument and then sucked the blood from the deceased body,” said Ngoepe.

Police were alerted and the members arrived on the scene to find the suspect still with an axe in his hands and arrested him.

“Witnesses say those affected by the incident, including the deceased’s children, are receiving counselling from the local authorities.”

The suspect will appear before the Zaaiplaas Magistrate’s Court soon.

Police investigations are still continuing.
