Limpopo man to appear in court for pub stabbing

A Limpopo man is facing a murder charge for stabbing a patron at a local pub.

Mankweng police have arrested a 25-year-old suspect in connection with a murder that occurred at a pub in Mankweng Unit D on Saturday, reports Review Online.

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says the arrest followed a manhunt launched after a 31-year-old man was stabbed to death at the T-Zone Pub at around 02:30.

“The deceased sustained multiple stab wounds to the upper body and later succumbed to his injuries in hospital,” says Ledwaba.

The suspect was traced and arrested yesterday in Mamotintane Village.

He is expected to appear before the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court on tomorrow on a charge of murder.

Police investigations are continuing.
