Live: Former minister Tito Mboweni laid to rest

Former finance minister Dr Tito Titus Mboweni’s Special Official Funeral Category 2 will be held at the Nkowankowa Stadium outside Tzaneen, Limpopo, from 10:00.
Mboweni (65) passed away in a Johannesburg hospital last Saturday night, after a short illness.
Funeral and burial
Thousands are expected to attend the proceedings at the stadium in Nkowankowa. The Presidency previously announced that the funeral will feature ceremonial elements provided by SAPS.
“All who wish to bid farewell to Dr Mboweni are welcome to attend. At the conclusion of the funeral service, the cortege will proceed to Bordeaux (eBodweni) cemetery where he will be laid to rest,” reads a statement by the Government Communication and Information System.
President Cyril Ramaphosa, who ordered that the national flag be flown at half-mast at all official flag stations until tonight, will deliver the eulogy.
“Government has also encouraged the public to continue to sign condolence books that will be available on the day of the funeral. [These] books will be available at designated areas within Nkowankowa Stadium,” SANews reports.
