Load-shedding to be implemented from 17:00

Eskom says load-shedding during evening peak periods is on the cards this winter.

Eskom has announced that Stage 2 load-shedding will be implemented again this evening from 17:00 until 22:00.

The power utility says that an increase in electricity demand during winter during peak hours puts severe pressure on the system. Peak hours are from 05:00 until 09:00 and 16:00 until 22:00.

This is the third night in a row that load-shedding was implemented during evening peak hours with Eskom warning that forced reductions in power use might be implemented more often during the cold season.
