Load-shedding to be reduced to stage 3 this weekend

Eskom says stage 4 load-shedding will continue to be implemented until 05:00 on Saturday.

Blackouts will be reduced to stage 3 from 05:00 on Saturday and will continue to be implemented until Monday.

This as Eskom announced that diesel deliveries have arrived in Mossel Bay and will now be transferred to various stations in order to replenish the system by Monday.

As a result, stage 4 load-shedding will be implemented in the meantime, the power utility says.

Eskom adds that they will use the weekend to replenish the dam levels at the pumped storage schemes, which, according to them, have ‘been utilised extensively to complement generation capacity’.

An outlook for load-shedding for next week will be announced on Sunday afternoon.
