Load-shedding to continue until Friday

South Africans can expect a lower stage of load-shedding to kick in by Friday.

Eskom has announced that they will continue to implement varied stages of load-shedding until Friday.

Stage 2 power cuts have been the order of the day this week, as the power utility has implemented this stage from 16:00-00:00 daily since Monday.

This stage of power cuts was initially planned only from Monday to Wednesday, but Eskom says due to a ‘persistent shortage of generation capacity’ stage 2 load-shedding will be implemented on Thursday.

“Stage 2 load-shedding will continue on Thursday between 16:00 and 00:00, and then stage 1 load-shedding will be implemented on Friday between 16:00 and 00:00,” the power utility explains.

Whether power cuts will be implemented over the weekend is yet to be determined and Eskom says they will provide an update on Friday afternoon.
