Man arrested over KZN double murder and attempted killings
Police have charged a 31-year-old with killing two men and wounding two others in a shooting near Mpukunyoni last November.
The KZN Provincial SAPS Task Team has arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder.
Northern Natal News reports that he was expected to appear in the Nquthu Magistrate’s Court today.
The charges relate to a shooting incident on November 13, 2023, when four men travelling in a white vehicle from Ntinini in Babanango were allegedly attacked near Mpukunyoni.
“It is believed the suspect, who was known to the victims, opened fire as the vehicle came to a stop,” SAPS spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Paul Magwaza told Northern Natal Courier.
The driver reportedly lost control, and the vehicle veered off the road. Two of the occupants managed to escape, while the other two were fatally wounded.
Police investigations continue.
The outcome of his court appearance was not yet known at the time of publishing.
