Man fatally stabbed during family altercation in Gauteng

A family gathering in Ratanda ended tragically when a young man was stabbed twice, allegedly by an older relative.

A 25-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Ratanda – a township south of Heidelberg in Gauteng – during an altercation with a family member on Saturday.

The Ratanda SAPS responded to a complaint of a fight in progress at about 04:00.

The man, reportedly stabbed twice in the neck, and a 58-year-old male relative were taken to Heidelberg Hospital.

The younger man was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.

The Heidelberg SAPS arrested the other male.
