Men hand themselves in following murder of taxi boss in Amanzimtoti
According to police, the victim decided to hide from a shootout, where after he was shot in a supermarket.

Two men, wanted for the murder of a taxi boss, handed themselves in when they realised that the Organised Crime and Special Investigations and Tracking Task Team were closing in on them, recently.
According to provincial police spokeswoman, Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo, it is alleged that taxi boss, Simiso Gumede (36) was shot inside a supermarket in Amanzimtoti.
She said that after a shootout had occurred at a nearby garage, the victim decided to abandon his vehicle and take cover inside the supermarket where he met his demise.
The victim was declared dead at the scene.
“The accused, aged 33 and 36, were advised to hand themselves in by their attorney when they heard that the police were working around the clock to ensure that they were brought to book. They made their first appearance in the Umlazi Magistrates Court, recently, and were remanded in custody. They also appeared in court for their bail application,” said Ngcobo.
