Miss South Africa 2022 crowned

Last night, Ndavi Nokeri was crowned as the new Miss South Africa for 2022.

The Citizen reports that the 23-year-old from Tzaneen in Limpopo was crowned at a glitzy event at the SunBet Arena at Times Square Menlyn in Pretoria.

The crown was handed over to Nokeri by Lalela Mswane, Miss South Africa 2021 and the current Miss Supranational.

eNCA reports that Nokeri impressed the audience and judges with her message of unity. When asked about the importance of keeping South Africa united, she said South Africans should stand together and embrace their differences.

The judges included former Miss Universe, Zozibini Tunzi, former Miss World, Rolene Strauss, investigative journalist and media personality, Devi Sankaree Govender, former Public Protector, Thuli Madonsela, businesswoman and Miss SA 1990, Suzette van der Merwe and the current Miss Universe, Harnaaz Sandhu from India.
