Miss South Africa escapes an attempted hijacking incident in Hyde Park

Miss South Africa, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, escaped an attempted hijacking incident on Wednesday evening on Jan Smuts Avenue in Hyde Park, reports the Rosebank Killarney Gazette.

She exited the vehicle after three armed suspects approached her car. According to the Miss South Africa office, a passing motorist helped Nel-Peters by driving her away from the scene.

They also confirmed that her car and handbag were recovered at the scene by a security company.
