Mossel Bay man’s murder: Son and co-accused in court

Two young men accused of stabbing a man to death have made numerous court appearances since the murder in January.

The son of murder victim Jonathan Malgas and a co-accused remain in police custody until their next appearance in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court on April 11.

Mossel Bay Advertiser reports that Malgas’ son, 20-year-old Curtis de Bruin, and 18-year-old Kean October are accused of allegedly stabbing Malgas in Johnson Street, Asla Park, in Mossel Bay on Wednesday, January 22.

Malgas was declared dead at the scene.

De Bruin and October were arrested shortly after the incident and charged with murder.

They first appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court on January 27, and have appeared in court several times since.

The matter was postponed to April 11 for further investigation.
